Celebrity Fashion ICON Family Stokes
Legendary celebrity fashion designer, Linda Stokes has been creating since the age of 16 back in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Making up 90% of her senior class prom dresses, she then began designing for legendary Motown artist the Temptations, Enchantment, Natalie Cole, and many more. Married to legendary grammy winning song writer and music producer, Michael Stokes, when the music business shifted out west, so did our entire family. In February of 1980, the Stokes Family had arrived in Los Angeles, California being a major part of the music and fashion industry.
Linda Stokes of LSO Designs has become the go to designer, or Hollywood's "Best Kept Secret" I would call her if I'm not calling her MOM, to the elite and A-list celebrities in the Hollywood, Sport's, and the Entertainment business to date. LSO's name alone is recognized through out the industry which has trickled down to three generations. Partnering up with the top wardrobe stylist, Stokes has worked with friend Margaret Maldonado and her agency, which birthed such notable and prominent wardrobe stylist such as Andrea Lieberman, Petra Flannery, Charlene Roxbury, designer Ligia Morris. Stokes has also collaborated with NYC based June Ambrose and LA's own Shawn Barton. My mom has designed for everyone from Joan Rivers, Cher, Faith Hill, Andre 3000, The Jackson Family, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Axel Rose, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Eninmem, Steve Harvey, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Chastain,
and then some.
Watching my mom make my sister's and my clothes growing up, we always stood out in the crowd when it came to making a fashion statement. Since then, LSO has created a collection of fashion lines which includes Dress Of The Week (Couture), LSO Sports, and TUTU CUTE (Children's) line which is celebrity kids favorite.
I began working with my mom around the age of 24. She taught me how the cover shoes with various fabrics, sew, and crystallized garments, which eventually became my specialty. Using only the top of the line products, my mom established a strong relationship with Swarovski, which we use to embellish many custom made clothing, shoes, and accessories with our families brand. Through my mother, I have been honored to crystallized garments for major artist such as Celine Dion, Brittany Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Missy Elliot, Aaliyah, Usher, to name a few. In late 2014, I was blessed to crystallized a pair of Air Jordan's for Michael Jordan's daughter Jasmine Jordan, in which she rocked to honor her legendary All Star father at #MyHeroGala. I have been inspired through my mom to start my own company CLINCH, which consist of fashion, promotions, artist management and specializing in brand marketing.
In May of 1993, GOD blessed my with my daughter Milan Christian Dior. Not knowing that the birth name of my daughter would transpire into three generations of fashion in one family. As, a child, Milan couldn't stay out of my mom's fashion house, which my father built for her at their home in Woodland Hills, CA. after starting at the Sunset/Gower building in Hollywood to Colfax and Ventura Blvd in Studio City, CA. Like many young girls, Milan started out making clothes for Katie, Her favorite cabbage patch doll and of course the fabulous Barbie at age 7. My mother and I first noticed how talented Milan was with hand sewing around the same time. My mother eventually bought Milan her first sewing machine at the mere age of 11, and it's been non-stop ever since.
Like her grandmother, Milan mastered her sewing class at William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills and is near graduating in top ranks at the Arts Institute of Hollywood. With the guidance of her grandmother and I, Milan's entrepreneurial spirit has moved her to start her very own fashion line titled Euphoric Gold , which consist of young hollywood flare, handbags, and even fashionable mouth grills. Inspired by her grandfather, Milan now has her eye in the lens, and has taken photography by storm. In June 2015, Milan and I have collaborated and created a couture swimwear line called Cruise, coming to water everywhere soon.
