Celebrating the powerful combination of fashion and music, The 2014 "FASHION ROCKS" was  held at the Barclays Center in NYC, on September 9TH, 2014. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the evening featured some of music's hottest performers and equally fashion industry trendsetters. Celebrities alike from Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Miranda Lambert, Rita Ora, Pitbull, and Duran Duran just to name a few. My focused was on this one particular American Idol, Mother, Actress turned Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson. Styled by her longtime celebrity wardrobe stylist, Eric Archibald, Jhud's sexy, edgy, fierce style, exudes high fashion effortlessly. Jennifer's shorts we're custom made by my mother Linda Stokes of "LSO DESIGNS". The infamous shorts which took 3 days to complete, was completely beaded and crystallized by my daughter Milan Stokes, and Myself, by hand. The royal color palette in the shorts consisted of various Swarovski Crystals such as aurum, dorado's, topaz, pearls, and gold studs. Stokes style prides ourselves on delivering very detailed custom work and keeping our clients looking Amazing! Team work makes the dream work...... That's my families motto that we live by. Being taught by one of the Hottest Designers of our generation LINDA STOKES of LSO DESIGNS, was a little girls dream. With my mom's GOD given talents, clients includes (Celine Dion, Cher, Gwen Stefani, Kobe Bryant, Steven Tyler, Andre 3000, Jlo, Usher and Magic Johnson, just to name a few) and my perfectionist eye for detail, clients Chris Brown, Britany Spears, Faith Hill and more, the Stokes women are an unstoppable combination. Fittingly, I've been given the nickname of Eagle Eye and The Crystal Queen, in which I gladly accept the throne. My mother (Linda Stokes) has been designing and making clothes since the age of 14. Although I didn't bite the designing bug until well after my dancing career, I've always been influenced by many facets of the fashion business. My mom made my sister's and I clothing as little girls. We would shop for the fabric, and watch her bring the outfit to life!

Upon having my daughter MILAN CHRISTIAN DIOR, who is now in her final year at the Art Institution of Hollywood, Milan too has caught the fashion bug. Milan went from playing in my mom's crystal's at the mere age of four, towards graduating with a degree this year in fashion design. Three generations of fashion that flows through our bloodline, makes for a family of FABULOSITY.

 During the 2014 Red Carpet Fashion's for the MTV VMA's, some celebrities chose to be talked about and some deserved to be TALKED about. Dancer, turned Singer/Actress  Jlo sparkled in a crystallized  metallic Charbel Zoe dress which lit up the evening.

Beyonce stands by her name given by her better half, music mogul JAY Z, "The Hottest Chick In The Game". Beyonce Knowles is the epitome of Style, Grace, and Class when it comes to walking down the red carpet. Queen Bey arrived wearing a beaded Nicolas Jebran designed black lace and beaded gown. Performing in nothing short of Tom Ford colored mirrored body suit. When is comes to rocking the hottest and latest designer's.... "HAIL TO THE QUEEN".

Nicki Minaj 1960's inspired cut, sequined leopard printed snakeskin mini dress paired up perfectly with her new natural toned down appearance. The Saint Laurent, one of my favorite's, just so happens to be from the Fall 2014 collection. Great choice for the VMA's... Chic, Vibrant, and Sexy.

One of my least favorite red carpet designs of this years VMA's would have to be the All American Girl, Taylor Swift. I'm not sure if her converting from country music turned pop stress has changed her taste of clothing or she just had a very cloudy mirror and bad yes men convincing her of her fabulosity. I pride myself on my clients wearing the clothes instead of the clothes wearing the client. To say the least, Taylor you would normally receive a ''HOT'', but 2014 you strolled in a "NOT".

Amber Rose, Amber Rose, Amber Rose....... What we're you thinking? Or not thinking? I can't actually call it a dress because their wasn't any fabric. The nearly naked, silver chain cover up by Laurel DeWitt was just that, something to cover her bikini up. If attention was what she was aiming for, she got exactly what she wished. That would of actually won my vote had it been worn at a pool party in the Hollywood Hills, Rehab in Las Vegas, or even featured in her husband's Rapper (Wiz Khalifa's) music video laying out by a pool scene.
